Nao Hensel is a native of Japan. She obtained Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University in USA in 2010. Then completed a one-year rotating small animal internship in Boston, USA followed by a 3-year veterinary dermatology residency in Georgia, USA. Nao has a special interest in autoimmune diseases, otology and allergic skin diseases. In 2014, she moved to Basel, Switzerland and opened a veterinary dermatology practice.

Patrick Hensel is a 1996 graduate of the University of Bern, Switzerland. He received his Dr med vet from the University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2000 in recognition of research on urinary incontinence after spaying. Then he completed a one-year rotating small animal internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Zürich followed by a 3-year veterinary dermatology residency at the University of Georgia. From 2004 he was appointed faculty at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia, and tenured to Associate Professor in 2010, where he served as the senior faculty in teaching, clinical research and clinical service until 2014. Patrick has a special interest in allergic and parasitic skin diseases and is a member of the International Committee on Allergic Diseases of Animals (ICADA). In 2014 he decided to return to Switzerland and to open a dermatology clinic in his hometown area of Basel.

Ed is a European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Oncology. He graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2016 and completed his specialist training in 2023. He currently works in private referral practice in Cambridgeshire.
Alongside his clinical work, Ed is actively involved in veterinary oncology research and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and delivered presentations at national conferences. He serves on the ECVIM-CA (Oncology) Credentials Committee and is also contributing a chapter to an upcoming veterinary oncology textbook. His interests include mast cell tumours and lymph node mapping.

Hannah graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 2013 and spent two years enjoying the ups and downs of mixed practice in the British countryside, before deciding that her passion lay in small animal practice. Hannah then spent four years at the Royal Veterinary College (London), completing her specialist training in small animal medicine and becoming a member of both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2019.
Following this, Hannah worked as an Internal Medicine Specialist in Sydney for a year, honing her coffee appreciation and sea turtle endoscopy skills, before heading back to the UK. Hannah is currently part of the Internal Medicine team at The Ralph Veterinary Referral Centre: an independent hospital found on the principles of ethical practice. Her particular interests are in endocrinology, immune-mediated diseases, and gastroenterology.
Outside of work, Hannah can usually be found running, swimming or cycling when she isn’t locked in a battle of wills with her Miniature Schnauzer!

Max is an EBVS recognised specialist in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery.
He qualified with merit from the University of Cambridge Vet School in 2015 with an integrated degree in veterinary pathology and epidemiology. Following graduation, he spent three years working at Wanstead Veterinary Hospital – the flagship hospital of the Goddard Veterinary Group in London. In 2018, Max began a one-year rotating internship at Dick White Referrals, during which time he also was awarded a certificate in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery through the University of Nottingham. He stayed at the same hospital to complete his residency training between 2019-2022 and was awarded the European Diploma in Neurology and Neurosurgery in 2023. Since gaining the diploma and before joining GVS, Max has been working at Fitzpatrick Referrals.
Max has presented research abstracts at both national and international conferences, and has authored and co-authored ten research papers and articles.
